Swimmers aged 7 – 11

Aim:
The emphasis is on developing basic movement literacy and fundamental movement skills. The skills to be developed are the ABSs (Agility, Balance, Coordination, and Speed. No periodisation will take place, but a well-structured programme with proper stroke, skill progression will be implemented.
Swimmers will be moved from Skills 1 into Skills 2 when the coaching team feel their technique on ALL 4 strokes has developed. The following areas will be looked at:
- Distance Per Stroke
- Stroke Count per 25meters
- Body Position in the water
- Timing
- Feel for the water
